Well the powers-that-are finally recognized my exceptional intelligence, superb leadership, and brutally handsome good-looks and promoted me to Materiel Control Team Chief. (I know, but in military jargon it is materiel not material. Look it up.)
So I’m back out at the Depot. What that really means is that I’m in charge of the seventeen MPRI personnel, seventeen interpreters, and seven drivers that work at the Afghan National Army Depots 1 & 2. I’m not in charge of the depots themselves—that distinction belongs to the US Navy, under the auspices of CSTC-A CJ4.
Strawberry is still here and greets me every morning for her sausages.
Of interesting note, while at work I wanted to add a couple pictures to my photobucket. I didn’t have the URL handy so I Googled “photobucket rlanicek”. I was amazed at the number of hits! Seems my pictures of the surplus weapons at Central Forces Depot (CFD) are a huge hit among fellow gun enthusiasts. Cool.
Out.
